    Default Rebeling Generals

Hey so I was wondering what happens when one of your generals rebels, I'm sure an advisor, the lady one I tihkn, says that they try to make a new clan or something, that would be kinda cool.
I've always been too scared to let any of my guys rebel so could any of you guys tell me what happens? Cheers

When I played the game first few times many of my generals rebeled. I'm not sure, but i think the generals and the half stacks joined an other already existing clan.

i saw a youtube video once where someone seduced an enemy general (5 star) and decided not to make him do seppuku, but give him his own army. when he attacked the clan he seduced him from, he, and part of the army, joined the enemy.

I once had a general and half my army run away and join an enemy army. Then I retreated from his army and during the next turn, I attacked him again and the general and half the army came back to me. Besides the additional upkeep cost, I actually made a profit there.

    Funny game mechanics sometimes =S

My very first campaign as the Hojo saw my best general become a turncoat. I was fighting a pretty nasty war against the Ashina, I think. They were about as powerful as I was with 5 provinces and we were deadlocked in Eastern Honshu. I managed a good break-through, when it came time for the final assault that would push into their home provinces I entrusted it to a guy who had only one star of loyalty. He was my best general so I really didnt have a choice, so i thought. I was committing almost all my clan's forces, it was do or die.

When I engaged the enemy, my low loyalty general betrayed me and joined the enemy with a full 1/3 of his army. It lead to the worst defeat of that campaign and the eventual lose of the entire game. The Ashina mounted a powerful counter-attack, spear-headed by my turncoat general, and managed to defeat my daimyo outside my capital a few years later.

It was one of the more impressive defeats i've managed to date.

Wow, that would be a very nice game for a story-based AAR. STW2, Game of Thrones style.

Hmm, well if all disloyal guys do is join the enemy, I'm going keep a super tight rein on them now on, my enemys are way too powerful enough at the moment.

That was a pretty epic tale though Monk.
