Unfortunately, there are people signed up for Jan 2012 large games, so at the very least if this were a large game it would have to run concurrently with those (assuming that those hosts show up to host their games).

Proposed solution: the small game queue is empty. ATPG, sign yourself up for another small game and start it directly after this one ends (or as soon as Beskar's finishes/drops out) with all the extra players here getting reserved spots in the next one. If this game has a simple enough concept that can be repeated without staleness, it could even be the same game twice. Otherwise, come up with something new. It's not like you aren't bursting with these ideas already; there's a reason you're one of the most frequent hosts around.

To be fair, the hosting queue is not updated to include my small game which is ready to go and also Beskar/Tiaexz has a game ready i believe. I don't think anyone has a major problem with including more players in this instance, but if the content manager / admin guy bends the rules for his own game, then it might look ill to some if he denies other hosts the same lenience - I'm assuming at least that is why the extra players haven't already been included: Something I personally don't find abhorrent ;P

If I would ATPG, I would try to avoid it.
If you agree for small bend of rules, then there would inevitably be a little larger one, and the next, and next... and we will finish without those rules

What if we petition to change the small game thing to 20 people?

Askthepizzaguy 04:15 01-05-2012
I would rather it be 20 people myself. I remember back when it was 16, I felt it was too small and we increased it to 17.

I just do not want anyone to think the gameroom moderators are giving themselves special treatment. So far, we've already bumped up the maximum as a result of one of my games, back when I was not a content manager.

Tell you what, this game can easily handle the additional players. I'll mention the numerous requests to join the game and see if we can't resize these things. It won't be up to me, we'll bring in someone more objective, either GH or Khaan.

I can tell, by the names on the list, that we can all play and follow more than one game :P
So don't see the problem about more people, it's not like ATPG gets to be the primadonna: WE want to play XD

I would say the limit for a small game is 20, for a large 50 and anything higher is an huge game. Would that be reasonable?

10 or less for a mini
20 or less for a small
45 or less for a large (40 should be the limit, 45 seems like good leeway)
More than 40 is generally a huge game. Limit should be 80, after Capo....

In my opinion, this is how it should be. But I'm just a guy.

Aren't you the "Content Manager"?

Isn't this the kind of "content" you get to "manage"?

Or are you really just a glorified housekeeper for the Gameroom when the mods are unavailable?

I generally have to clean the staff toilet with my own personal toothbrush (when available) and then with my tongue when the bristles fall off.

Which reminds me. "Darkling" refers to the object I found floating in the bowl after Andres spent the whole night drinking heavily.

The more you know...

We're not raising the limit because the .org's gameroom has the main draw of large games; if small games become too big there won't be enough players or interest for larger games which game hosts wait a long time for and put a lot of work into designing.

However, we've been granted an exception here because, quote:

The gameroom is slow and we need to get back into the swing of things. Skooma, not sure if he's ready to host his large one and GH is not yet, so we're not trampling anyone's toes. So exception, not the new rule, this game will have 20 players.

Will re-design for 20.

Not gonna happen today.

Hey folks, I have a 14 hour shift today because I need to cover for someone in addition to doing my own shift. Expect a delay in the getting of your role Pms. Be back asap....

Well Secura is dropping due to computer-related difficulties so I will use another reserve player.

classical hero was first up, so he's in.

EDIT: Working on sending out role PMs now.

Every time I've claimed to not be mafia, I've not been mafia. I have claimed to not be mafia. Therefore, by my watertight and irrefutable logic, I am not mafia. QED.

Nope. What holds true for one does not hold true for all, etc for proofs and crap.

7:45 AM

"Good morning, Farmer John!"

The man looked up from his work, to see who it was. He immediately smiled and waved back, returning the sentiment. "Good morning. How are you on this fine day?"

"I'm well, thank you... but have you heard the news?" the friendly voice responded, inquisitively. "What is it?" John asked.

"Apparently the pastor's daughter has fallen ill. The doctor has taken a look at her, but has never seen or heard of anything like whatever she's been afflicted with."

"That's terrible news. I hope she'll make a full recovery."

12:03 PM

Throughout the market, you could hear the clippity-clop of horseshoes striking the stone streets, the sounds of street merchants haggling with customers over the cost of their goods, the din of conversation and gossip. The sun shone brightly throughout the cloudless sky. Even though it was winter, the weather had been unseasonably warm, and there hadn't been a single speck of snow. The people were still bundled up, but without the bitter bite of the usual winter cold, the village was teeming with life.

A shrill, agonizing scream stopped everyone, and all went silent. They turned to look where the sound was coming from, and they saw a young woman with blood all over her clothing, which appeared to be nothing more than ordinary sleep wear. She was holding a long knife, with a blank, almost shocked expression on her face.

The sight of this young woman, in the state she was in, caused several of the womenfolk to faint. Some of the men rushed to their aid, while others approached the young woman covered in blood. After they pried the bloody knife out of her hands, they had a doctor inspect the wounds all over her body, which appeared to be bite marks. Shortly thereafter, she was restrained in a bed under guard, until the local magistrate could arrive.

"She's dead."

"How awful. No one could have survived such vicious wounds. Does anyone know what possessed that girl to murder someone in cold blood?"

"Apparently the deceased was not even a local, but someone here visiting family. The young woman and her victim didn't even know each other, as far as I know."

"What a tragic and bizarre turn of events. The pastor's daughter... and an unarmed person she didn't even know. I've never heard of anything like it."

4:37 PM

"It's the work of demons, I swear it. My little girl is an innocent, beautiful person who couldn't have harmed anyone."

"Demons? In New Eden?"

"It has to be. Some kind of devil's work, witchcraft perhaps. All I know is that my daughter is a good, Godfearing, sweet little angel. Someone else must be responsible."

"What can we do to protect ourselves, Pastor?"

"We must keep our faith in the Lord, as always, and pray for His guidance. But I have heard of these sorts of bizarre situations before. In the town I grew up in as a young boy, I heard my parents tell stories about something called a Darkling."

"Darkling?"

"A terrifying demon capable of making itself look just like an ordinary human being. They prey on the weak and the innocent, tormenting their victims and causing them to suffer unimaginably, before finally ending their lives. Sometimes, the victims go mad just from the presence of these beings."

"And you think these things are here, in New Eden? That they are responsible for making Secura go insane and murder that poor woman?"

"It's the only logical explanation for what's happened. My daughter is no murderer."

"In the name of our heavenly father, we pray for the strength to ward off evil spirits wherever they may lurk.... and if necessary, to capture and vanquish those who would do us harm, amen."

The congregation was mostly present and accounted for, which led many to believe that if demonic beings were among them in human guise, they might be sitting in the pews of the church itself... watching... waiting. Who would be their next victim?

The people of New Eden were not willing to wait and find out. They eyed each other with suspicion... and some even stood, to make their terrible accusations upon one another.
