Ai, sorry for missing the vote yesterday (last game day, in any case).
As an apology, for today, let me try and understand the landlubber kerfuffle.
This is all the information I consider to be critical:
- Landlubber, upon first being targeted, says he's a Big 'Un.
- When the lynch votes get serious, he says he's a Free Spirit; his quoted PM says 0.5 vote strength and one kill power increase per two nights per Free Spirit lynch. Not long after adds that everyone who votes for a Free Spirit will become one.
- He dies, appears as a Big 'Un in the write-up.
- He says there was a point to his death, and that he forged the PM (especially the kill power increase.)
- He also says that Chaotix is a Bully (victory when all Little 'Uns die), that he randomly picked Monty and Zack as partners, and didn't plan to get Chaotix in hot water.
- Monty says Chaotix is dangerous to "we the Free Spirits".
- Also says Chaotix saw all communication between landlubber and himself, confirming anything mentioned
- Chaotix told landlubber he was Bully, with victory conditions favoring neither side, asks for alliance.
- Targets Ishmael, while "Free Spirits" go after ATPG.
- Reveals to all that all Little Un's dead is a minor victory, needs town to win for full victory.
- Says he knows that there are two remaining Free Spirits, both of whom are Little 'Uns.
- Explains by above by saying it's "sensible" since the game needs balancing mechanics.
This is what I think it means:
- Chaotix's stated target actually died so the Bully role seems to make sense. The part about knowing about the number and type of remaining Free Spirits seems to be just speculation stated as fact so he can seem more knowledgable.
- Landlubber cocked up in the beginning of the game, decided the best he could do to make up for it is to confuse everyone and so remain important. He's just a straight up Big 'Un with a vengeful heart.
I realise that means I don't really have a strong case against anyone. Montmorency comes off as the most suspicious simply for being in the middle of all of this, not hesitating to point fingers, and not being clear about whether the Chaotix communications were single or double bluffs. I'm happy to change my opinion if any stronger cases appear.
Vote: Montmorency
