    Default Any realistic Samurai games?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any fairly realistic samurai fighting games. aka not filled with magic and stuff, and minimized on the crazy super weird and giant weapon and character category. Preferably something like the combat part of Shadow of Rome.

Basically I'm looking for an American style game where you play as a Samurai.

If you have a Playstation 2 there's 'Kengo' and 'Sword of the Samurai'. You take the role of a would-be swordsman and go through traditional training at the school of your choice. You learn various real styles and moves, and take part in organised duels to advance up the ranks. In 'Sword' you can also undertake extra missions, such as being a bodyguard. They were pretty difficult games as injuries were handled fairly realistically: you could die in a single hit.

There's also the 'Way of the Samurai' trilogy. Two games on PS2, one on PS3 and xbox 360. They're reasonably realistic in some aspects, though exaggerated in others. The story is a series of branching paths so you can choose your own samurai adventure by siding with different factions. They are heavily designed for replay; you can collect swords and moves and carry them over to your next game. IMO the first game is the best. The later games gained so many options they felt overwhelming.

If you're looking for a fighting game, try Bushido Blade.

I mean like, not over-the-top typical Japanese style, where there's all sorts of weird stuff going on that makes no sense and it's just so far out there it could never be considered realistic. I suppose American-style isn't the best way to put it. Basically just something realistic, not where you get like a x10000 combo on a giant army like in KH2, or you can get swords 3 times the size of your body, or crazy stuff like that.

I seem to remember a game with ninjas, with a cartoony aspect to it....you could float in your hats and stuff. Little Ninjas or something...can't really remember.

And the Ninja Gaiden series is supposed to have some good games. I don't have console so I haven't tried it, but my friends say that Ninja Gaiden 2 is good.
