Default Getting in the mood for Fall of the Samurai

I'm thinking of getting Fall of the Samurai. Are there any media I could check out to get in the mood.
Books, movies, series, comics, paintings, musical pieces, ... you name it.

P.S. I know of 'The last samurai'. You don't have to mention it.

The books "Cloud of Sparrows" (translated in Dutch as "Samoerai") and "Autumn Bridge" (translated in Dutch as "Terugkeer van de Samoerai") by Takashi Matsuoka take place in more or less the same timeframe as FoTS.

I heard that movie... eh... what was it called again? Oh yea, The Last Samurai, that it is really good!

On a more serious note, there is Seven Samurai, a movie that apparantly is one of the greatest and most influential films ever made (in Japan I assume). I dont know if it is in the same timeframe, I think Seven Samurai is in an earlier era.

'Shogun' is an old but good series. You can also push an Asian from the stairs.

    Thats great, ahahahahaha.

Check out 47 Ronin, though its based around the 18th century

For 19th century check out Hidden Blade (Kakushi Ken Oni no Tsume) or like was said above, The Last Samurai, which in my opinion should have starred mel gibson. His cry for freedom at the end would have been perfect if he changed it it SUUUUUUUUUUUBBBBBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEERRRVVVVVVIIIIIAAAANNNNNCCCCEEE-

13 Assassins, both the original and the new one are incredible. Shinobi, the movie, to stay some more in the "the twilight of our age, our glorious service ends now, time to die, future holds no place for us", although more from the shinobi point than the samurai. Also, Samurai X anime. The Hidden Blade is also a good call. Damn, there is so much stuff worth watching... Recently seen Yojimbo again, also worth watching.

Already a great number of suggestions. Some I have heard of some I have even seen (Samurai X).

    Thanks and keep them coming.

That's right. (I also read the entire manga series and watched both OVA's)
