Hi all
I cant get Amazon TW to start up after installing it into my Total Rome folder. have created a shortcut and added the mod lines but it just gives a flashing screen when executed. Is there something I have missed. I did everything that the instructions said.

Hi colin!

It is important to check which version of Rome totalwar or Barbarian invasion you are using. You need to be patched to 1.5 for Rome TW or 1.6 for the Barbarian Invasion version. If you bought Rtw gold, you are fine. Also note that Amazon Total War has one version made for RTW and one for BI. Did you install the correct version?

Also note installing mods in a sub directory of program files may cause problems as well. Better install them elsewhere if you did so, as the program files directory often has safety measures prohibiting a correct installation.

I have I think a standard version of RTW can't see a gold addition on the CD cover or in the files. The versions of Amazon I used were rev 6_0G7z and rev 6.0G7z both do the same thing.. The read me file did state install into the RTW folder but if this is incorrect I will try in another folder. Do I need to do anything else as I dont think the exe file is seeing the Amazon folder and try's to revert to starting RTW then gives up.

I'd write you up a good description on patching up RTW, which I think is the problem you have but it has already been done here:

Possibly you might want to deinstall everything, install it again and then patch it to be sure it works.
