Default The Birth Control Thread Got Me Thinking

About how Much I miss Louis, Banquo and Adrian

They would've come in and for about a page we would have continued to dispatch our oppenents with witty prose and water tight arguements and then after they had been bested we would have spent a page giving each other congrats. Then Me and Louis would've started making flitations with one another. Then Adrian would pipe up with some obscure boating comment only Fragony understands b/c no one cares about there half sunken Soddom.

Then Banquo would've come in, locked the thread, and scolded me for not being an example

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

What? My witty and nuanced quips aren't enough for you?

This thread has me thinking of a couple bartenders I met in San Antonio. I'd gladly pay three grand a year for each of them.

But you're right. I'm glad they graced us with their presence for as long as they did.

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

I'll second that I do miss Louis. He had a great writing style, presented his arguments really well, and wasn't afraid to say something pretty out-there. Indeed, I'm pretty sure a lot of the time he wasn't being serious. I get the feeling that he was one of those guys that might have a controversial/unacceptable thought niggling him, and then present it in the most outrageous manner possible, so that he could play it off as not being serious, while at the same time gauging our reactions to what he said.

Banquo and Adrian were probably too sensible for me to pay much attention to them. I'm a passionate guy and I come from the adhd generation, I just can't get motivated to read long posts on the finer details of economic or foreign policy.

Did you feel all alone dealing with all the ignorant, wing-nut, racist, mysoginist bile from Vuk and myself?

I know acin and cent are around but they sit on the fence too much, and PJ has gotten all moderate and boring these days.

The correct answer is some combination of all three.
