We're using a mod that balances MP. KH is actually really really really powerful.

Well the impression mainly was due to Kretans getting in a melee with TABs and Xystophoroi getting bogged down by spearmen. Tho the lack of Phalangitai in the AS lines should have hinted it^^

The mod also boosts Reformed hoplites or does it not?

The KH had much better main line troops in this battle and cretans do not rout so easyily, espacially not in lose formation. I also had a hill advantage in this battle and won the archer fight and brought one archer in his back up in the hill (It cannot be seen in the video). What the EDU-mod does is improving secondary weapon of cavalry that's why the hellenic heavy skirmisher cavalry had a chance to stop the cataphraktoi. Reformed hoplites (you're speaking about thorakitai hoplitai?) had only very minor changes:

- Reduction of both attacks -1 (I think that was done for all unit's which are packed together with few spacing)
- an additional point in defense skill (see above)
- increase lethality of kopis from 0.11->0.135 (this was a general change for all kopis)
- they got a small cost reduction: 1902 -> 1807 (that was part of a general cost reduction of hoplitai units)

I'm not exactly sure, what you mean by "Xystophoroi getting bogged down by spearmen".

I think he means the x amount of attempted charges not properly executed by both size due to unsuitable terrain.

Also worth noting that Kretans, like most heavier archers, make for a decent light/medium infantry.

These two videos are of the Battle of Magnesia which we set up as a 3v3 a few months back. Since I doubt too many people dl'ed the custom edu and other files to view them I have taken the liberty to do a commentary video and post it up on Youtube. Enjoy everyone. Raphia will be up next week.

Although another historical battle would be lovely. We (and by "we" I mean one of you guys) should organize another one... perhaps do that Rome vs Sweboz battle that never happened? We've got everything prepared for that one already, I think.

Yeah it was Arausio. Certainly winnable by either side imo. It was a 4v4 though and with the new Hamachi that is nearly impossible unless we get Vartan involved so he can boot players who are afk, OR we set up our own Hamachi network and only give out the id# to people we trust to realize they need to LEAVE the network when finished playing.
