Gunpowder Mastery Achievement

Advanced Firearms: Be the first clan in the campaign to obtain gunpowder mastery.

Ok, since I was Shimazu in the last campaign, went Christian, and basically had guns from the very beginning of the campaign, I decided to get this achievement, even though it meant wasting time going deep on this side of the tree, the side I never spend much time on to be honest, which is why I don't have this achievement.

So, out of curiosity as to what some of the units do in battle based off this development, and to get the achievement, I went down the development path and got Gunpowder Mastery researched.

Much to my surprise I didn't get the achievement. So, what else is necessary besides researching it? I thought maybe you had to recruit the units this makes available, so I did that as well, I was going to anyway just to see how they fared in battle, but anyway, still no achievement.

I suppose it's possible another clan got it first, but I was watching for that, don't know if it would of shown up as announcement, but then other deep tree research projects do that are on peer with this one.

So help me out here, what am I missing?

When I got those first to research achievements I didn't get them straight away. I think I only received them when I won the campaigns. Of course you might not have been the first one to research them, but that never happened to me.

Thanks for the response. I had already played and won the campaign, I was just picking it up mid-stream again and focusing on getting the achievement, since it seemed a natural for that clan. And so I was a bit surprised it didn't award me the achievement when I completed the research, perhaps I'll take it to the end and see. No biggie, just happened to be one of the few SP achievements I hadn't at some point stumbled across already in the natural course of playing campaigns since game release.
