Options going back to default with each new start

Anyone else experiencing this?

I always turn music and speech, markers, flags etc off and have every graphics option at ultra or high.

Game used to remember these settings but now every time I open STW it's changed the sound and battle control options back to default and unit size (but not the other graphics options) from ultra to large.

Doesn't take long to change them back - but its getting annoying as while my PC can play the game at max settings its weirdly temperamental about me switching windows from the game to anything else and generally crashes STW so I frequently close and re-open to do other stuff on my machine.

AFAICT the save files are fine.

Any ideas what it's doing?

Look for your preferences.script.txt, usually located under .../AppData/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Shogun2/Scripts/

Within it, frequently near the first line or so, but could be buried further in, look for a line starting with:

write_preferences_at_exit...

I suspect yours might state: write_preferences_at_exit false;. If so, change it to write_preferences_at_exit true;

Thanks - as so often is the case it now seems to have stopped happening but I'll know where to look if it does reset.
