game repeatedly crashing

first happened playing as the saba, when i ended a turn, then noticed it on a lot of campaigns i was doing. it would sometimes crash (saying EB has stopped working) when i ended turns or won battles. as this only happened rarely, and usually after i had been on it for a while i wasnt too bothered, but today within 10 seconds of loading a campaign it just crashes

Are you activating the script religiously every time you load a game?

Are you staying in the battle mode after the end of battles until after the music stops playing?

Have you installed all the bug fixes?

Both your problems are described in the frequent encountered issues, give this thread a careful read!

If they persist, post here again with detailed information about build and campaign.

ok so i applied all the permanent fixes, i have been turning on the script as well, and i started new campaigns. generally i've seen less crashes, but i've been playing with the romans and reached a point where the game just keeps crashing

first it crashed when i attempted to load a game. one of my cities had been invaded by a relatively small number of averni, and i sent a family member to recuit some mercanaries on the spot to defeat them. despite hugely outnumbering the averni, i lost and one of my family members died, so i chose to load an earlier game, but as i did so it crashed. i re-booted and sent more mercaneries and again lost, again tried to load and again it crashed. so i decided to just leave the army next to the city in case i was attacked, whilst another army i had besieged their capital. i ended term and took their capital whilst their besieging army broke off the seige, saving after this happened. when i tried to return the family member who i had sent to the seige to the province he was in previously, the game crashed. when i re-loaded the game it said as that that family member had died heroically.

after this i decided to load the first game and simply leave him in the province, thinking they would abandon the seige. this happened and everything was fine, but then when i was browsing the map, it crashed when the view came over anatolia. i re- loaded and the same happened. after this i re loaded and decided to simply end turn, but it crashed when it gets to pontus' term.

You should know these points:
- always activate EBBS after loading/starting a game
- don't load too many times or close the game before reloading
- EB requires a complete clean Rome 1.2 build

Before looking at your save, please run validateInstall.bat found in your main RTW folder and post your results here.

i ran it and it just came up with a blank notepad document.

how many/ what frequency loads is too high?

Check these hints about the validation tool and try it again.
There is a minimal chance that a game is corrupted any time you load a game without restarting EB, this comes from RTW.
