Yasunaga: "Don't let them escape! Run them down!"
Chisato: "My lord, Honma has no more Katana samurai. What should we do?"
Yasunaga: "Hm... how about we
encourage Honma to change formation, so their melee units become the first line?"
Chisato:

"Why would they be so cooperative?"
Yasunaga: "Believe the power of ancient Iga Ninjutsu!"
Note: The AI actually changed its formation on its own. In the future, I will make a dedicated guide on bait tactics, in which I will cover how to manually encourage the AI to switch its formation.
Chisato: "The Bow Monks have brought back another unit!"
Yasunaga: "Smoke them in the face!"
Yasunaga: "Wahaha, don't underestimate our smoke arrows that detonate on impact!"
Chisato: "I thought only Hattori sailors could do that..."
Note: Please refer to the Black Ship Battle video at the end of Chapter 15.
Yasunaga: "Run like dogs! Run from the armageddon!"

Chisato: "It is amazing how fast people can run with their butt on fire..."
Chisato: "My lord, Honma has no melee units left! Just daimyo and 3 units Bow Samurai..."
Yasunaga: "Looks like we can deliver the knockout punch. Bait the bows! Naginata, charge!"
Hattori Naginata Samurai: "Charge!"
Chisato: "My lord, the Honma daimyo has circled around our Naginata line and dodged our smoke arrows!"
Yasunaga:

"Huh?"
Yasunaga: "Don't let him run away!"
Naginata Samurai: "Charge!~"
Yasunaga: "I will meet Honma personally! Bodyguards, draw swords! Charge!"
Yasunaga: "Huh? It is you..."
Honma Yoshinatsu: "It is you..."
Yasunaga: "My Shogun 1 clanmate..."
Note: I was very excited to see the two taisho meeting face to face, expecting a lengthy duel. However, immediately Yasunaga's horse lost control and rushed 10 meters away. Honma daimyo also died in the chaos shortly after.
Yasunaga: "25 : 1607! That's what they deserve for betraying an alliance for nothing!"

Chisato: "The terrible power of ancient Iga Ninjutsu..."
Video of Battle of Fukushima. Enjoy!
Minamoto Tomokata: "Wahaha, Honma did not expect the Fifth Army to land on its back! The rebels are too slow! I will take their last castle!"
Hattori Bandits: "Let us help!"
Summer 1560, all 65 provinces of Japan flied one banner.
The Hattori Shogunate united Japan.
Hattori Yasunaga: "

Thanks so much for al your effort! The Hattori Shougnate will bring Japan to a brand new dark age... I mean a epic age!"
Momochi Sandayu: "And Iga Ninjutsu has become the only true law of Japan. Iga Ninjutsu is Good!"
Comissioners and generals: "Congratulations!"
(Imperial Palace in Kyoto)
Chisato: "Your Majesty, peace has finally arrived!"
Emperor: "Chisato! You fulfilled your promised! And I fulfilled mine. I have fired the guy who did your old job, so you can return to my side. You know, every time I have a constipation, I think of you...

"
Chisato:

Emperor: "And I have a big reward for you! A very rare treasure indeed."
Chisato: "What treasure?"
Emperor: "The original soundtrack of Iga Ninjutsu! By listening to it we finally realize the highest level of Iga Ninjutsu. Let's give it a listen..."
(music plays)
Iga Ninjutsu is Good.
Iga Ninjutsu is Good.
Iga Ninjutsu is the righteous law, gate screw loosened by the jaw
Iga Ninjutsu is Good.
Iga Ninjutsu is Good.
Iga Ninjutsu is the righteous law, agents always safely withdraw
Iga Ninjutsu is Good ~
Iga Ninjutsu is Good ~
Iga Ninjutsu is the righteous law, Hattori takes it all ~
The End
Here comes the victory screenshot. It actually happened two seasons earlier, at turn 60, right after the Battle of Fukushima.

Goemon: "I like your taste!"
Note: In this campaign I tried to find out the mechanics of baby makings in the game. Here are the things I found:
1. Babies are born randomly at the beginning of a season. If we can generate a new random seed (such as by loading a new game save), there is a chance of having a baby born in the next season.
2. Babies cannot be born at the beginning of the game for a number of turns. In this game I could not get a baby until turn 7. I wonder whether this is related to the number of territories and number of existing generals.
3. Subsequent babies cannot be born within less than a year.
4. In this campaign, the most (re)productive Hattori Yasunaga I could achieve was to have a new baby on Turn 7, 11, 15, and 19, four autumns in a row. I did not really need so many sons and daughters - just to see what's possible.
Note: Manually fighting a battle generates a new random seed even if you do not load a game - I guess the game is still "loaded" at the end of the battle.
I just had a son on turn 6 in my Chosokabe game. (Seems weird to be noting it here but thought you might like the feedback.) At the time I had 2 provinces and 1 general. It was a natural (i.e. no reloads) so perhaps it is possible even earlier?
Thanks for the information. If the game sets a limit on one child every 4 turns, I suppose the counter could start at turn 1, so perhaps the first baby could be born on Turn 5?
Excellent story Maltz, I love your sense of humor.
I'm impressed by the screenies, that took a lot of effort but it adds so much to the narrative.
I hope you don't mind me posting my pic; Chisato has become one of my favorite characters of all time.
oh Chisato, when you learn not to trip over the sleeping samurai?
can you not see that jumping out of the tree will shoot you over your target?
that he will block your thrown weapon with a quick over-the-shoulder move?
I'm in awe of your legendary domination achievement with this clan. Hattori is hard; crowded position, bad economics, this faction is tough to play.
I struggled with funding from turn 1, and it took me about 30 starts (some played thru to 1560) before I succeeded on hard mode short campaign. It took more than a few heroic castle stands (some against absurd odds) and a lot of ninja work - sabotage army and assassination. I never had enough koku to build anything and could only field minimal forces. In the end I ended up slightly in the red and lost 3 provinces on the last turn since I had to pull back sufficient force to hold Kyoto.
Definitely the hardest campaign challenge I've had in S2.
Thanks for your kind words, ichi. I think in the end the most challenging campaigns will become our best gaming memories. The trade nodes in the west makes things so much easier, though. I hope you like the ongoing Uesugi story.
