    Default Frozen Synapse

So I was browsing what was available on Steam and found this neat little game (at least it looks like it from the pictures and descriptions) that reminds me a lot of what the Rainbow Six games used to be. Looks very interesting, and the fact that you can give a friend a free copy when you buy it makes it very enticing.
    Anyone play this game?

Absolutely. If you like tactical shooting/planning it's a great game. Think of it like the old rainbow six games' planning stage, except having an entire game based around it. The game is based on planning an attack out in advance, and then seeing if things go according to plan. Then trying to recover next round to what just happened. Its a very hands off tactical game. A lot of times your men will get slaughtered, even though the plan seemed sound. The old "Well it looked good in theory.." will apply a LOT until you get the hang of it.

The campaign is pretty shallow with text-crawls separating missions but has a fun cyberpunk feel to it. Really nice if you get into it. Its strength is definitely in the free-form skirmish mode imho. It also has one of the best soundtracks of 2011.

Sounds good. I was thinking about this because Im in the market for a netbook for college to take notes on(I have a relatively high end desktop which I have no idea how to get to University of Maryland from Atlanta, but thats a different story) and I was looking for a low end game that would be fun to play when I wasnt at my desktop.

I've just played the skirmish mode, and it's pretty cool.

I got this one because the premise is quite interesting, and I like tactical games.
It is indeed a tactical game with a nice bit of planning involved, however it proved to be harder than I'd imagined it. I never had the patience to play it more than three four times before I shelved it.
