Aren't they simulating a manned mission to Mars atm? I thought I read something about scientists in a facility in Russia being locked away for 400something days to simulate the duration of the trip and rationing, or I could be buying into Soviet propaganda from the space race...

    Wow!

That is ambitious to say the least. The only thing I ever saw about a self-contained/self-sustaining environment collapsed under its own waste; I assume they have overcome that difficulty.

Skeptical but hopeful. They'll never make it by their projected date. Everyone has a plan to go to Mars. No one is going to do it any time soon.

    Now I know it's a hoax:

In 2018 a robotic exploration vehicle will land on Mars to join the supply Lander. This rover's task is to travel around the planet to determine the most favorable location for the settlement. As always, you will be able to join it on its mission thanks to the live video being streamed back to Earth!

One rover is going to explore the entire planet?

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

No it's going to find a nice place to put settlements, you of course need even ground .

If it's a hoax it's a good one but some top-folk are involved in this, they will get a 'sureeeeeeeeeeeee' if they say it was all a joke

This was impossible for example but here it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Works

    And there it is
