10 year game of Civ 2

This kinda reminds of some of the Age of Empires II games I sometimes played, I'd spend a month on some and it would wind up a permament cold war between the Franks and Chinese.

I had a five hour 19 minute game with my brother once. That was a long game, but very fun. (I eventually won, but man it took a while).

I used to get some awesome end-game scenarios with the original MTW, but everything post-rome is too spread out to lend itself to that kind of gameplay. I assume you were playing MTW2? I've been meaning to go on a TW binge, but I can't decide which one... I heard Empire got a lot better with patching though.

You might enjoy a read of that. I certainly did. I love skpping turns till whatever number I feel like (generally 100+) and taking a weak kingdom and rebuilding them. It's good fun.

Naw I played a lot of AOE2 even did leagues and all that jazz. The nature of the Game because of its resource gathering aspect necessitates an end. Eventually the AI runs out of resources. However, the player makes sure to stock up on gold (the resource that matters). Also as a player we will set up trade routes as well and collect the relics. also on island maps the ai (this was a huge flaw which bothered me to no end) doesn't transport to colonize overseas so even more gold. Anyway it comes to a point where a best the AI is down to pikemen skirmishers and Hussites and no gold troops. So you waltz in with a gold heavy army with a few trebuchets and go about destroying it. It's the nature of the game the only difficulty is lasting that long.
