Units have infinite ammo and can't change formation or skirmish

Hi. I am new to this forum, even though I have been an avid reader for many years to help me play Total War. Anyways, I installed EB the other day, amazing mod, but I am having trouble with the majority of units. I don't know whether it is meant to be this way, but they all seem to have infinite ammo, and the loose/tight formation and skirmish icon are grayed out, and hotkeys don't work. I wouldn't normally complain about infinite ammo, but it means that units like javelin throwing horsemen can't ever engage in melee, or enter skirmish mode, making it tiresome to manually move them constantly. I couldn't seem to find any info on this anywhere, so I started a new thread. Any ideas as to how I might fix this?
Also, I never get to set up my army before battle, it just auto starts after the load screen.

All issues above are only in the Campaign. In custom battle, there is limited ammo, all hotkeys work and I get to set up my army before a battle. I'm stumped in this one.

I'm not sure if you accidently click at acarde battle stiye box while you were choosing factions to play. You can restart your campiang. Before you choose your faction make sure to make X in acarde stlye box disappare. And to make your skirmisher attack with melee mode simply hold Alt key while click at the enemy to attack them. This should help.

Thanks mate, that worked a treat. I always wondered what arcade battles was, but I dont think it made any difference in vanilla. Again thanks a lot, this forum is awesome.
