this thread is about a ongoing and successful petition about Total War Rome 2

one of the most demanded things of the MP community is to get back the old global working chat lobby

Shogun 2 had it but it never worked similar. ETW and NTW do not have it at all. if you never player Rome 1 or MTW 2 you perhaps dont know what we are talking about and what you should better miss.

as the problems in MP are not only the missing chat functionalities there has been setup a very successful petition with over 350 members yet most of them are from named clans that you perhaps know

we ask you to join up for a better Total War Rome 2 multiplayer experience as the most talks goes about singleplayer and campaign yet.

of course compared to over 200.000 views for the Rome 2 trailer 350 men are quite a small bunch but the group is growing fast. if you agree with the petition terms join and also ask your friends along the TW community. our first goal is to reach 500 and then write a postal letter to CA. a second goal would be 1000 members. nearly as much as Total War Center - one of the most meaninful modding forums - has.

our totalwar petition reached outside of forums and steam groups.

a turkish community webpage that also holds a steam group "Total War Turkiye"

headlined reports about our petition. lets hope other news sites like PC Games, RPS and other favourite sites used be CA for publishing TW news may follow up this honorable step.

hi we will update our petition though the great feedback there and now have over 600 people in it:

these are our new goals.

international Steam Total War Rome 2 petition for clans and random players

what we ask for:
- a working global chat lobby (see differences here: http://forums.totalwar.com/showthrea...l=1#post368063

- user customizeable funds
- more and larger maps
- maps that influenced units
- more various maps
- ability to "create" own maps like Rome 1 Mappacks
- dont have to deal with overpowered, nerfed or wrong skilled units and elite units

- never had to think about what of the 1000s of retainers your opponent might use and which to take to give yourself a working boost

- you never had a builtin disadvantage if you played casual (except skill perhaps)

- people were able to invent and apply great and various ruleset on games (cwb is not the only one that works)

- you was not forced to pay a massive fund for your general... just for having some extra super skills they never really paid out.

- modding support and public access (Steam workshop)

and some more.

If this petition means, that we only will get 350 player in peaks, than my answer is No.

CA created the S2 lobby since they expected a lot more player. They surely didnt expected (Wonder why they didnt see it coming), that
after the initial clash the player disappeared in no time.


I loved the lobby we had in the first few versions, it was cool, but that worked out back than, as we had peaks in STW with 35 players.
Today that will be a huge problem. Lets assume, that we gonna have 2000 or even 10k player… and this in one lobby?

No way!

The fact, that CA constantly keeps ignoring to look left and right, doesnt help it either.
Please look at WC3, just look at their lobbysystem and copy it. Done!
There you can jump from one lobby to the other, but you entry in your language lobby.

Its pretty easy, but again, CA didnt got that done in the last 8 years, so why on earth they would do that now?



Instead to worry about a lobby, people should worry about the game itself, the avatar system and all the abilities for units and the unfair system concerning new player…
Its a feature, a nice one, but if the game gets another bad shot in the MP-department, you just dont need a lobby at all, since people will peak it at the start and than its over once again.

we are still growing and now over 770 members. just keep the believe and actively spread it i dont think that technically it would be hard to have 2k or 10k in one lobby (with different rooms) but a global chat and friendly like Rome had is very appreciated. even a lot of stuff is going in there it is living and amusing only sometimes a burden to read check rtw to see how active it is.

the petition also is now regarding more maps, free for all game mode for Rome 2 and stuff need. Thanks for your opinion Kocmoc.
