No, you died before the odds were ever really good that you'd be able to protect someone.

The odds were always long that you'd successfully do it; I am surprised you chose to protect people other than your mason partner at times.

An excellent game. I never suspected Ironside at all. Good thinking at the end killing the only other active player, even when he was the most suspicious.

Ghosting team partners is another thing. depending on the game, sometimes I allow it.
But to have a town win because someone never bothered to play all game so he was never killed by the mafia is stupid.
