Ya. Worst of it is that they don't even expect to make much money from this port, they don't even expect to break even. The pc-crowd got this because they were screaming for it, I doubt they will fall for this next time. Lucky for you pc-crowd, you are getting to play the most brutally challenging, deep and entirely captivating rpg you have played in years, probably the last one you will ever get after being such a cruel mistress.

@Monk, maybe they will be a bit nicer once they see how incredibly big and complex this game is and that they get an even better version of it. It only barely fitted under the hood of the consoles they are used programming for, getting the exact same game should be good enough because that's what they asked for, but they are getting even more. You can't expect them to suddenly become an expert in pc-development. No poor port, a better version that might not look as good as current pc-games is really all you can realistically ask for

Well, I agree mostly, but if they have such a hard time doing a proper port, they could have paid a more experienced developer to do it.
Like Crytek for example.

I wanted to wait for the PC port because I thought it would have crisper graphics etc.
I use the same 24" monitor for PC and PS3 anyway...

the steam page reports it's controller enabled, that usually means it will work with a 360 pad. Don't have any other sources to verify though.

But that isn't exactly within the reach of a small team of japanese nerds. They had to make the original code work on a pc and they did exactly that. Don't complain. Play it, love it, and realise your daddy was tough on you but he has always loved you. Even if it is kinda frustrating sometimes (hehe read hard as hell, expect losing a fight with some bosses a LOT of times). Yes I'm overly passionate, but this is a really good game.

Do you know how much it costs to not put Games For Windows Live on a game? Zero dollars. If the devs can't get their publisher (Namco-Bandai, not exactly a niche company) to give them a few people how know how to use a mouse and keyboard, why should anyone buy the game?

It won't be sold for that much, can't you recognise a courtesy when you see it. Even a ps2 or N64 title will make any high-end pc cough up blood when trying to emulate the raw code, and this is a ps3 title they were screaming for. WANTS. And gets. What the que. You are asking for the impossible, to make a ps3 game run on a pc on emulation, yet they managed to cap it at 30 fps. I know pc's are capable of much much more but it's exactly what 60.000 people signed a petition for, a pc-port of the absolutely awesome Dark Souls. Be happy, the pc that would be able to give you this at 60fps and all technical wizardry could be very close to overthrowing the human race

No, it's not exactly what people asked for. When people ask for a PC port they usually want all the standard options any other PC title offers, like higher resolution and a crisper image. The argument about it being impossible to emulate a PS3 game is really bad, there are countless games that run well on both platforms. Of course it has to be done right and they couldn't do that. But sometimes it's better not to promise something at all if you can't do it right.

What do you think the PS 3 community would do if someone promised them a port of a PC strategy game and then said they have to connect a mouse and keyboard to play because the PS3 controller isn't supported?

Not true. A PS3 is roughly equivalent to a budget non gaming laptop
