Been wondering about this one. I love tower defence games, but this sounded different.

    Thanks for the review.

    You are most welcome.

Personally, I think that this game should be played with a friend as much as possible, so keep your eyes open for the 2 in 1 packs of the game. There is a good deal at GamersGate for two games in one, saves you 5€ at least.

Good review, I will add something for you here which I felt missing.

"Whilst the game boasts a multitude of no spells traps and features, after tiredlessly unlocking all the various fun toys to play with, you will ultimately end up back at the square one bread'n'butter due to inefficiencies in translating the more complicated traps into practical usefulness, with some traps such as the ballista ultimately being a total waste of skulls. However, there is no one set strategy for each map, as layout causes you to constantly adapt for each situation which does bring about more variety in your choices than simply the almighty unstoppable orc-wash (tar, acid, haymaker combo)."

    Faulkner all the way.

Have you tried the trap resetting trinket? It can work wonders with traps that are slow to re-arm themselves.

My toolbar is in that picture! I had it equipped.

Yeah, my friend mostly uses flame, tar, haymaker and I use barricades, archers, acid. From playing, I have noticed that on a pure class basis, the Warmage is better than the Sorceress. That blunderbus is pretty insane especially when close up. My friend got that Monsterkill achievement a few times with it.

Would you say that you see potential in co-op to hold you for a longer while? Do you think you got your money's worth out of the game?

For Value, I argue that £1 per hour entertainment is relatively good value/cost for a game. So if I bought a triple A title for £40, I would expect at least 40 hours worth of good quality entertainment from it to be reasonable priced.

I bought it for £10 and my steam profile says I played 20 hours, so I got my monies worth at least not to begrudge the title. However, due to the limitations in options, any further gameplay will be based on moods.

In comparison, I got Dungeon Defenders and all the DLC in the Steam Sale for £10, currently got 90 hours on that. However, Sale items are often skewed due to that fact it was a sale. Typically, all that content would cost £40 not on a sale.

Though, another flaw is the model is the type of games too. Because this would rate EU3 and Crusader Kings as the best games of all time.

So in summary, I would rate it as good entertainment and I think honesty, the co-op added more to it than subtracted.

I know I'm late to the party, but I've been playing the first Orcs must die! game yesterday evening.

It's been aaaaa...ges since I had so much pure fun.

There's not really a story, the concept is very simple, it's a wee bit challenging, but not very much, the graphics are ok but not up to todays' standards, but it all doesn't matter, because it's so much FUN.

It's a very refreshing experience and I'm absolutely loving this game.

Hah, nevermind - I read the title as 'Orcs must diet!' Expected something completely different.
