    Default Sauro local recruitment

Im currently enjoying a steppe campaign with the sauro's. Ive conquered some nearby territories, yet i am unable to train local troops. I build a "military occupied" in the area where I want to train local units, but not regional mic shows up? What am I missing.

Thanks in advance for the answer, as i have looked in the forum search and came up short.

not quite sure, however I think Local mics can only be built in non-nomadic(not sure about Mixed*) areas. (not the government but the resource)

You could test this by Force diplomacy gaining a very urban province and building a government there.

Military occupation isn't enough, you will need to build client kingdoms and iirc not all provinces allow it...
Steppe areas usually have simply nomadism or pastoralism, once you reach more urbanized regions, you will be able to set client kingdoms (steppe culture's gov 4) and build barracks etc...

Indeed, what Arjos said. Try checking out some towns in the Crimea or, failing that, in the Caucasus mountains. You should be able to find some regionals down there. I can't be sure though sinec it has been a LONG time since I've played EB and a sauro game.

The other option of course is to just build pastoralism everywhere you can. Once you get the right infrastructure set up the Sauro's can recruit their noble horse archers from any region on the entire map. A noble horse archer army can be supplied and retrained anywhere in the world after about 10 turns of control and building in a region. Brilliant and exploitative; I love it.
    Completed Campaigns:
    Macedonia EB 0.81 / Saby'n EB 1.1
    Qart'Hadarst EB 1.2 / Hai EB 1.2
    Current Campiagns:
    Getai/Sauromatae/Baktria

Interesting... What kind? A 1 town AAR where you just have a single army that travels the world raping and looting its way around taking each new town and letting the last one rebel?
