ok another AI+ mercenary question

ok does the a.i. NEVER recruit mercenaries below hard campaign difficulty or just rarely??? Same with rebels. Do the rebel armies NEVER attack you below hard campaign difficulty or just very rarely

Ive sent my spies around the map and ive seen some armies of Carthage and Bactria with 1-2 units of Mercenaries. But other than that i havent seen many in this game. Ive looked around the Roman armies and did not find a single mercenary. The pools in italy are all full

Early on my campaigh i was besieged by a rebel general but after that rebels never besieged my cities again.

So im asking is there ANY chance that AI could recruit mercenaries on medium or easy campaign difficulties??

oh yeah and the reason i am asking is because i forgot what camp difficulty playing on for one of my campaings

carthage: 1 unit mercenary pikemen, 1 unit rhaetic axemen, 1 unit ligurian infantry, one unit iphrakites reformed hoplites, 1 unit mercenary greek theuophi

Rome: none at all. instead they have fullstacks of triarii, celtic levy spearmen and illyrias. not a single mercenary. ( I was wondering is this normal roman behaviour on H campaign?"

So based on the above, is it possible i may have clicked Medium campaign difficulty instead of hard?"
also im playing on realistic movement mod and most factions have been wiped out It is only 240 BC does that also affect AI merc recruitment? Tbh I don't really care how many mercenaries they recruit I just want to make sure I am playing on hard difficulty because im kinda obssessive about playing only on H or VH

The AI does recruit a few mercenaries on Medium. I know because I only play on Medium. But only a few.

The Eleutheroi armies will attack you sometimes on medium, but usually only because you're getting very close to a town.

Try starting a new Saka campaign on Medium, then moving your faction leader's army toward Gava-Saka as far as you can. When you end the turn, you'll almost certainly be attacked by an Eleutheroi army.
