We had a similar discussion, but it much sprung from a "thank you all" post I made.. I wanted to revive the topic without attention to the fluff, so to say...

And as to our latest newcomer... Poor guy! No wonder he opened some controversial debate to try and "get us".

I wouldn't feel sorry for truth1337 (if that is who you are talking about). Has anyone been watching his escapades on the TWC?

I am single handedly keeping this place afloat.

The problem is all of you think you know everything, you don't.

This problem is compounded by the second problem, your posts are to damn long. 75% of the posts back here contradict themselves. If a thread goes longer than a few pages, it is nothing but contradictions

Back in my day people read, contemplated, synthesized, and formed their own opinions from there. Now one of you gets your hands on "The Road to Serfdorm" and parrots those opinions on here as if you were some intellectual heavyweight.

Even worse is those posts, which are so shallow they look liked they were ripped straight from some type of punditry.

I basically only post back here blitzed drunk anymore because I see the same mouth breathing opinions. The only threads I start are things that tip my outrage meter
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Then why talk about political theory at all?

Why be such an ass about it? If we are going to assert that we can only talk about our relative fields that we work/study in none of us can have a conversation with each other. This isn't your grad professors office strike, some people come here because they know they don't know. It's a lot easier to simply read a post from PJ or you talking in plain english than reading a dense book. Are you unhappy that others are being taught? Or that you don't get anything out of this place yourself?

Ah, so da problem is all dem peoplez dat disagreez with ya! I seez it allz perfectly now!
Don't forget Strike, that you (and everyone in the world) form their opinions by looking at data that is mostly presented by others, and listening to other's arguments and weighing and analyzing them. Being influenced by someone does not make you an intellectual lightweight.
I find it funny that that should be your argument, when half of the posts you make when not drunk out of your mind sound like they come directly from one far-left blog or another.

There are well-read, intellectual people on both sides of nearly all arguments on this forum. Stop being so typically petty and making excuses for your less-than-stellar posting behavior.

As a male he must sit whilst peeing. He must also prove his worth of the titular title of feminist by forgoing the misogynistically named period. As it is a sexist remark on woman having the last word.

That hasn't happened. "Holocaust Denial" content was removed from the site later on though, mostly as did not have any actual arguments involved and legal complications. Any infractions or bans have been given out based upon the rules in the FAQ thread.

I like the backrrom. I like getting smacked down by PJ and Lemur, and flip flopping all the time as new information and arguments are presented. For example, this week, I hate pickles. In real life, I punch myself in the balls when I think I am dreaming.

This place would be much better if people would get together and meet more often, and post pictures and what nots, maybe have a barbecue or shirtless volleyaball game. When I open my restaurant in Guam, called The Org, which will be a precursor to Cheap Steak and Quality Hoes Inc in the Philippines, I expect everyone from the Org to visit, where they will enjoy a 25% markup on all products.
