    Default The battle of Thermopylae video

    The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
    factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
    when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

    Yeah, I saw that documentary before. Actually there where two shows that used the Rome total war engine(before the game was released IIRC, so they were using "tweaked" betas) one was a series of documentaries, which the one posted was part of, and a game show which they had to people "off the street" pitched against each other in a historical battle.

    Both shows were from the UK I think. I was so interested in Rome:Total War at the time I tried to bit-torrent them(Im in the US, they werent on BBC america).

    Interesting, when was this film made?

    I remember that, when RTW came out, CA were saying that they hoped their technology would catch on with film makers for historical documentaries. At that time they had the only (or at least the most advanced) program that would allow to show large scale battle scenes without recruiting a single actor.

    It does not seem to have taken off at that time.
    Perhaps with Rome 2 they will have another go at it.

    Actually come to think of it(Im getting older, memory failing) the documentary series may have been US based, used on cables history or millitary channel, I caught several of those episodes. There was another greek battle they went over using the RTW engine, maybe battle of marathon?

    The game show was definatley BBC UK though.

    EDIT: I looked it up, yeah history channels "Decisive Battles"
