One of the jobs I used to do in the summer holidays in Perth was pouring lead in a giant tin shed/warehouse. These were for power lines where the ceramic insulators screw on. Lead is soft enough that it doesn't shatter the ceramics. Anyhow by the end of the day doing this my jeans would be black with tar and I would finish up at 4pm walk out into the summer afternoon and put on a jumper as the heat differential was huge going from the foundry to outside.

Btw Perth in summer is 37 C or 100 F :)
That sounds like a simultaneously interesting and very difficult job. My bro would probably have liked to have worked a summer job like that. He is obsessed with power distribution and just got his degree in Electrical Power Engineering tech.
