Huh. Neat. I had most of the games I was interested in, but it's been ages since I've played a golf game. I won't say no to an ultimately free tiger woods '12. Thanks.

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
I'll pass, I hate origin enough that I wouldn't have it installed if every game you listed was free.
And any game connected published by EA will be a game I never play.
Eh, Origin isnt so bad, at least in my experience. Unwieldy and slow, but otherwise harmless, IMO.

The minute any game series I play and love becomes Origin exclusive, I will give up on being a gamer. Hopefully, it wont happen. In the event that it does... MS-DOS Games, here I come!
Can someone explain the hate for Origin? Ive never had a problem with it, yet everyone seems to hate it for the sole reason that it is EA owned.

Steam is bad enough, in short.
Days since the Apocalypse began

My problem with origin is, put simply, that it is non-functioning software, nowhere near ready to serve in the capacity that EA needs it to be. Yet we are forced to use it anyway if we want the privilege of playing EA published sofware. I had the same issues with steam for years, as did many other people.Originally Posted by Tiaexz
Today Steam has come a long way from where it began, but it is still very much a closed platform, and while the store and the sales are fantastic I have no illusions of the fact that it's main role is DRM. The fact that I don't even notice it 95% of the time allows me to accept that fact, but others have equal issues with steam as I do with Origin.
Currently, Origin is stuck in offline mode and won't go online. No, seriously. I'm not even sure how this is possible but Origin is literally refusing to connect to the EA servers. It says it needs to update every time I login, and I tell it to, but something in the process is completely broken and it kicks me into offline mode before an update even begins. I've tried everything I can think of and still it just sits there in offline mode. It doesn't help that EA's customer support is legendarily bad. I have looked and looked for a solution, tried everything short of ancient rituals to those who should not be named, and still nothing helps.
I haven't been able to play the new ME3 multiplayer stuff because of this, and after a few evenings of messing with it have just given up altogether.

In terms of download speed/connectivity, Origin has a long way to go. I get those occasional Offline error as well.
Steam, on the other hand, feels like breeze. CD/DVD days are almost gone, so digital distribution needs its own means to fight copyright infringement where broadband connection set itself as the standard as of today.
