See you on the Flight Deck!

Looks to be a great game. Glad to see they have exceeded their monetary goals and I eagerly await news.

It's just a flight sim in "space", just another one that forgets that there's no air in space, that spaceships don't need to use their engines 24/7 and that lasers aren't "machine guns that shoot energy bullets".
Oh and the only spacefaring nation from earth has american style markings everywhere.

I mean if they want machine guns and air resistance, why don't they make some SU-30 fleet defender or something in a weird scenario where a lone russian carrier slips into an alternate universe where every country is Somalia or something.

OK - look up the flight engine before passing judgement.

You know why should be excited? This is a PC GAME, not a console port - if this goes well we might actually get games that stretch our rigs again.

There's very little to talk about right now since all we have is the proof of concept the lead developers made and the pledge of their vision. With that said.. oh my god. I think i let out the tiniest of squees when i heard this funding was not only completed, but went off the charts. It's sitting at 6.5 million, and from what I read on the site they will be accepting donations through their website for a little while longer.

Freelancer is ranked way up there in my favorite games of all time and is one i still play to this day every now and again. The visuals haven't held up so well, but the gameplay is just as satisfying as it ever was. Seeing as the project lead for Star Citizen had a great deal to do with the original vision and inspiration of that game, I've got high hopes for this. I'll be watching with great interest as the development of this game begins for real.

Did anyone else notice, the Bridge crew are wearing TCN uniforms - right up to the ship patches.

Well apparently I missed the deadline to get 'lifetime insurance' on ships by one day ... !
