Completed EB Campaigns on VH/M: ALL... now working for EBII!
I remember when I first started playing EB, it was the very first beta version ever released, 0.74 or 0.73 I think, the one with the Yuechi faction still in before it was replaced with Saka Rauka. I had a Radeon x800 pro, 1gb RAM and a single core processor at 1.6GHz. It sounds terrible now but at the time I remember being able to play Call of Duty (the first one) at max graphics with good frames per second, and it was a modern game still so it can't have been all that bad, but EB used to take what felt like an hour to load, which was made doubly horrible because 0.73 crashed so much and I'd have to load it all over again.
Then I had a new PC built for £1,000 with a dual core processor, 2gb RAM and a Radeon 28xx and it still took 2 or 3 minutes to load but that was like a 10x improvement on the old rig. Nowadays I have a quad core processor, 8gbs ram and a Radeon 4870 and it takes literally no time at all. I can't even read the quotes because it loads so fast.
The bizarre thing is, that mental illness they call nostalgia keeps making me believe that it was somehow better back when it took 10-20 minutes to load and crashed every 15 minutes. Anybody else get that?

EBII has finally released. All hail the EBII team!
EB needs to load many small files, something a SSD can handle much more efficient than a 'normal' HD.
I used to play the beta on a system that took ~15 minutes per turn...so even while gaming I had more than enough time to learn for school ;)
