European bisons online

There is very interesting initiative organised by Bialowieza National Park and
Lasy Państwowe (polish forest company).
You can watch European bisons (żubr) by online camera.
Its situated at forest clearing when they are usualy being fed in the winter.
Hovewer all the animals are wild.

I love these animals. They are kings of the primeval forest.
Even wolves does not attack zubr.

Don't know - now works great.
Bisons should appear in the afternoon - about 16 gmt.
And about 22 gmt they are on clearing almost every day.

Doesn't work at Chez Frags maybe only Polish can watch it. These things must be a very old species they are very similar to American bisons. Awesome.

In fact there is one standing around right now and it's snowing!

Maybe sometimes when they have no food - but hardly ever.

Some days ago pack of wolves appeared at clearing and meet żubry.
At the beginning bisons started running. Hovewer one of them turned back ... wolves lost.

Wolves are smart and opportunistic (like magpies) they don't like to die for a meal.

The young, old/sick are probably all fair game...provided they can isolate and outnumber the prey.

Wolves are awesome, they have been spotted very closely at the German/Dutch border. Too close for comfort perhaps but wolves don't harm humans

There are no American and European wolves, it's the same species, a grey wolf (Canis Lupus L.).

Wolves, like all predators, prefer the prey that's easiest and safest to catch, but, ff hungry enough and in sufficient numbers, there's no doubt they'd attack a bison, either American or European.

To be fair, healthy, adult bisons have little to fear from wolves, but old, young and sick are definitely on the wolves' menu.

Old male bison is actually thing wolf scare most. 900 kg strenght and agression with big experience in combat.
It's same species (canis lupus) but not same subspecies.
Alascan wolf (canis lupus occidentalis) is bigger than euro-asian wolf (canis lupus lupus).
