I have failed to verify the integrity of the quote supposedly belonging to Al Farabi that goes (roughly translated):
"Prophets are not ones who are blessed with divine revelations, they are merely ones with powerful imaginations"
Anybody with a specific interest on the Islamic philosopher ?
I've never heard this quote before.

Hrm, yet another internet faux maybe.
Thank you.
Perhaps misattributed. Although al-Farabi's philosophy concerning the differences between reason and revelation is well-known, he wasn't as vehemently anti-religious as al-Razi, for example.

I was always interested in "heretics", so that's a great lead of knowledge you've revealed for me, mister, hats off to you.
