Thread: death after execution :O

a few of the stories are that people were hanged and survived but were actually thought dead. (they probably just passed out). But these cases were only discovered because the doctors were experimenting on the corpses. How many people may have died in their coffin after they didnt really die at their execution :O macabre!

Sounds like something right out of an Edgar Allen Poe story.

BTW, aren't doctors supposed to examine the body after execution before declaring the person dead? Because I'm pretty sure they do.
Edit:
NVM all stories are from bygone days.

nowadays yes, but the examples are mostly from like 1600-1800 when all these practices and medical procedures were non-existent. i mean they didnt even believe in germs :P

Couldn't be any worse way to go than suffocating in a premature grave! :O

There was a case recently, I seem to recall.

I still happens, though it's much less common now.
