The New Order is in development at MachineGames, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bethesda parent company Zenimax. The studio was established in 2009 by the founders of Starbreeze Studios (Chronicles of Riddick) before being acquired by Zenimax in 2010.

The game's debut trailer is available above. Check back every day this week for more coverage from GameSpot on Wolfenstein: The New Order.

The most recent entry in the series was 2009's Wolfenstein, which was developed by Raven Software and published by Activision.

I hope this turns out well, but I'm skeptical. Wolfenstein doesn't really seem like an IP that has much in it other than as a pure shooter, and those are a dime a dozen this days. That said, Escape from Butcher Bay was a surprisingly good game with a lot more depth than anyone ever expected for the subject matter. Maybe they can give Wolfenstein a similar treatment. I'll reserve judgment until I see the reviews though.

Last one was incredibly boring. How do you make nazis and the occult boring, they succeeded.

Good news.
As long as I can play BJ Blazkowicz again, I'm happy.

I just wish they would release a new Enemy Territory.

One of the best MP experiences I've ever had, simply brilliant. Easily the best thing that ever came out of this series.

If this latest iteration is focused on the SP, then I share the sentiments already raised that it will no doubt be a waste of time. The initial press reaction was much the same, really, this is what the world needs, another FPS shooting nazis?!

These are the same guys who made the Riddick game and The Darkness which are both brilliant, could be awesome. The occult is cool, shooting nazi's is cool, mechs are cool.
