Condemn the Soviets, especially under the leadership of Dze Gausveeli [sic?] all you wish. He was every bit the monster Adolf was and his go to guy Beria was even more of a sicko than most of the crew working for Hitler -- which is pretty nasty to say the least. On the other hand, condemning an alphabet, and by impllication the entire collection of cutlures associated with it, is a bit much.


Atrocities happened with appalling frequency on both sides of the Eastern Front. This was especially true of second-echelon troops on both sides, where rapine and looting were as bad as anything a medieval army could produce and on occurred on a scale that beggars the imagination. Moreover, as you rightly sneer at, it was the effective POLICY of both combatants to treat the civilians that way. Nauseating stuff.

Did the individual women deserve to be raped? No, of course not. Was Stalin a mad bastard with mad bastards working under him? Absolutely. Did Germany as a nation reap what it sowed? Sadly yes, IMO. Did Poland? Not really. They got screwed by both sides (their fate was sealed by Versailles, their own inter-war diplomacy and the weakness of their Western allies). Did the Western allies do some nasty stuff, both authorised and otherwise? Yes they did.

I'd be a little paranoid as a Kurd as well, after all they're not liked wherever they live.

The USA were very generous to Germany, even if it was for their own ends. They even gave/allowed us a better constitution than their own, it takes a lot of love to do that.

Calling our government a puppet of the USA is a good joke, by that definition the UK&NI is the 51st state, Poland is the 52nd state and the rest of Europe are also all puppets of the USA. It's more insulting to Europeans than to Americans who will just dream about it being true anyway.

Some of our tax money goes to Israel as reparations for the families whose lives we destroyed 70 years ago and hardly anyone here really has an issue with that, there are more people complaining that our western states still pay for the communists in the east who we bought from communist slavery in 1990 and who keep bitching about how everything was better before 1990 when their part of the country was still in the 1940ies economically.
