It's quite the same over here. It's like bikes are a bit of general property. You take one use it drop it, someone else takes it drops it. If yours is taken you take someone else and so on. It's almost communism on small scale.

The lock is more expensive than the bike ;) An expensive lock might prevent theft but your bike will be vandalised. As Moros rightly says, bycicles are regarded as common property. Nobody will get overly angry if it gets snatched. Rules of chivalry is that you only steal the ones that are already falling apart, it's not seen as a crime. Grand Theft Bycicle ;)

I just wrote 24 headlines for the same dang article, and still they aren't happy. Here's the thing: Good writing of any sort depends on specifics.

If I write, "Lemur Bad," there's no impact, no resonance, nothing. "Bad" lacks the specifics.

If I write, "Lemur Known Goat Molester," suddenly you have an image to work with, and the whole thing makes sense.

Anyway. These idiots want a headline that says everything, hence their inability to settle on a single message. I keep pushing back at them, but this is going to be a long day.

Talked with a friend about schooltime. I am a bit legendary I once failed my exams because happy-hour and a nice sunny day was the better proposition. Good thinking, one year extra. Official rules were that if you got kicked of class 3 times you got kicked out of school but the rector really liked me, if I got kicked out of class, which happened a lot, I got one hour of bringing him coffee and having a laugh with him. Funniest anecdote; I could one day choose between an hour of coffee-duty or a kick for my ass. I chosed the kick but the bastard didn't tell me it would be my 2 meter tall French teacher giving it. Ouch. He liked me less. Don't think things like that would be possible nowadays. Any other person would have kicked me from school I owe a lot to that guy, he told my worried mother that I made his job more interesting.

Not odd at all. Many people with a dominant right hand have a dominant left eye. It is better to shoot with your dominant eye than your dominant hand. You probably have a dominant left eye, so it is more natural for you.

Sometimes the world seems dimly lit to me. Even on a bright summer day it can seem dark. It is odd. The sun has lost it's luster for some reason. It is not particularly depressing or distressing, just...dark. It also seems more common in the summer months as well. I have often searched for the cause in my moods, but they seem unconnected to the degree of some unseen light in the world that I am missing. The sun can quickly shut the pupils in my eyes when I leave the house of a bright summer day, but it still seems dark for some reason. Very strange. Anyway, I tip this mornings coffee to life and all the secrets it reveals and chooses to keep to itself. For some things are better left unknown I shall assume. For even pleasant things can be enjoyed when the active parts of the mind are completely unaware of it. Much like the unpleasant things a perhaps more pessimistic person than myself might opt to entertain. Ah, it would seem that sunlight is beginning to peek thru the night and illuminate my windows as I write this!

I did a historiography presentation yesterday for my intro to US history class. The professor gave me 100 out of 100 and only had good things to say about it, but a girl in the class gave me low scores on everything and said that it was too biased and that I needed to stick to the facts. I'm anxious to see what her presentation is going to be like.

I'm also starting to get sick of my job. I'm always getting told, "It doesn't have to be perfect", "It doesn't have to be perfect", "Just leave it like that", but then when a truss has a problem somebody says to me, "you need to take more pride in your work".

Being fair, it would have to be consensual to get that far with someone. So you have to be charming and suave to pull that off. But the idea of being in a consensual relationship with another as a 'punishment' does seem insulting and stupid!

I hate that I just watched the Colbert Report end. The show has been around for 9 years which is a whole 40% of the length of time I have been alive on this planet. My political views have been born, molded and evolved while watching Stewart and Colbert. Change is awful.

She likes toying with men, but sleeping with women and is extremely proud of the fact that despite her having most men she knows wrapped around her finger, she has never slept with a man. My friend wanted me to seduce her, get her drunk, and sleep with her in an act that would border on statutory rape. I am reconsidering our friendship. lol
