ID card for buying a ticket at the Louvre? Never had to do that.

Tip http://www.quaibranly.fr/en/ 5 minute walk from the Eifel tower. Must see.

Residents of the European Union under 25 years old can enter for free, that's why.

I see. Probably true for Quai Branly as well then. I can't recommended enough, even the building itself is a peace of art.

Louvre is pretty boring imho, most is baroque crap. You will not regret it.
