Yes, I know I'm really late to the party, but I picked up Shogun 2 Gold Edition a month or two back (I finally have a computer that can actually play it decently), and have been playing it quite a bit the last few days. I'm definitely having fun with it thus far. I don't know if I'll ever be ready to declare it the best Total War game (I'm an "old-schooler" with a deep and abiding love for the original Shogun and Medieval), but at the very least it's the first entry in the series I've actually enjoyed playing since MTW/VI.
That being said (and since no game is perfect), there are of course things about Shogun 2 that I still don't care for. In no particular order, my critiques (so far) are:
1.) Realm Divide (at least the way it's implemented) -- I just don't like how everyone automatically gangs up on you (even vassals and close/long-term allies).
2.) Army units still move too quickly in combat for my tastes.
3.) Pausing a battle sticks the bloody game menu right in the middle of the screen, thus blocking my view -- which (aside from when I need to answer the phone, use the bathroom, etc.) kinda defeats the purpose of my having paused the battle in the first place. (Until now, I never realized how much I'd miss the transparent pause window in STW and MTW/VI...)
My question is this: Is there a mod that addresses these issues I've just listed? Or mods? And if it's multiple mods that I'd need, are they compatible?
Any advice or recommendations are appreciated!
