Peaceful Village

Large mafia game for at least 18 players


Rules:
Private communication is allowed.
After death, alignment will be revealed (town, mafia, serial killer, cult), BUT there will be at least one death miller (innocent person, who after death would appear to be mafia, serial killer, or cult)

Specials
All town players are vanilla townies, but...
Players share collective power to jail one character every night. They vote for this every day, together with voting for lynch.
There are also two special power roles:
1. Mayor. At the beginning of the first day, players choose one of them to become a mayor. In case of a tie, mayor decides which of tied players would be lynched (or jailed). He also appoints sheriff.
2. Sheriff. Appointed by mayor (as a night action). Can either protect or track another player at night.

There would be one, two, or three (unlikely, only with more than 20 players) scum factions. It could be mafia, cult, or serial killer.
In case of mafia, one of their members would be designated as a hitman, and he will have to conduct night kills (this rule means that if he is jailed, there is no mafia kill; if any mafia member could attack at night, jailing power would be useful only against SK or cult leader)

It would be near-vanilla mafia, with a non-vanilleness described above.

It seemed, that villagers was more interested in the election of new mayor, than in selecting victim of the first lynch. It was quite rational. After all, lynchig will change life of only one individual, while electing mayor will have impact on everyone.
As for lynch, there were many candidates, but none get significant support. In the end, ATPG was chosen
In case of election, it was different. TinCow was leading candidate from the beginning, but the tides changed and Darth Feather gathered voices of few villagers. TinCow finally was elected, albeit with only a little lead. With an applaud, he accepted new post.
Interesting thing is, villagers decided that he will be better leader, if they put him in a jail... It is called 'country-style prevention', and is more old-fashioned than method used in big cities, where you allow officials to steal first. Well, they say it is better to prevent, than to treat.

I think the mafia is getting extremely frustrated with their hitman being jailed night after night. And if it's part of their strategy, then it suits towns' interests very well. In that case, their own strategy is hurting them. If TC is innocent (unlikely, since he asks for his own lynch while keeping him in jail is clearly best for town), then I advice the mafia to swallow their pride and to admit their plan wasn't bright by starting to kill. Which would of course comfirm TC's innocence.Either way, the mafia are suffering, which is a very satisfying idea.Sorry if you're innocent, but keeping you jailed is the best for town, TC.

Also, FoS Hopalongbunny.Not voting for the lynch in the post quoted by Visor was a particularly scummy move + asking for TC's lynch, which isn't a good plan for town.Also, why should we lynch TinCow and then look for the real suspects? That implies TC isn't a real suspect. Why would we have to lynch him then?

I am torn between lynching TinCow already or just keeping him in jail for the entire game for the lulz.

Of course, what is the chance that he is the last scum? Normally I'd say 2 scum and a serial killer is enough for a game of this size. But on the other hand, if TinCow is the only one capable of killing, then I would definitely give the mafia team at least 3 members.

@Visorslash, I appreciate the analysis as I haven't been doing much of it myself. I think Diana is perhaps just lurking as usual, but she does that whether she's town or scum. Rickinator... is tough for me to get a read on. I honestly thought Andres was the right choice, and I'm somewhat surprised to see him innocent. White_eyes looks scummy to me, but that might be because I think he always looks scummy.

It is nice to not be in the suspect list for once, I must say... if it weren't for the fact that there seem to be no night kills I'd say I was next on the chopping block.
