    Yeah, I learned that a few months ago, how a lot of german soldiers were addicted to Pervitin as it was called. Package just seems to say it keeps you awake, like it's relatively harmless otherwise...
    They also said US Air Force soldiers still have to sign contracts which demand that they take performance enhancing drugs whenever it is necessary for them to perform.

    Yes, that is what I meant, the pictures are not pretty. And there are still people who take it because the pictures are obviously just government propaganda to spoil young peoples' fun, right?

    It's mainly used in the poorer parts of Russia, where there's already a heroin addict in almost every family. When they can't pay the heroin any more only then do they tend to use it. They usually already are messed up completely or even fearing death. And of course some just are stupid. Vice has a good documentary on it, but thankfully with almost none of the overly shocking imagery of 'long time' user. (You rarely live longer than a year or year and a half)
