Slight problem-the game has been set to autoresolve all battles. Was this intended? https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/local...d=279&id=10505 @Myth @Nightbringer

I believe we had decided to do autoresolve only on all battles, but if people want to modify this it would be good to do so at this early point.

    We could do

    1. autoresolve only
    2. autoresolve against humans, but fought battles against ai
    3. fought battles against all

Personally, I would like to try autoresolve only against all, especially since I think it would help level out the different experience levels a little, but I am fine with switching if people want to.

If we do fought battles against all, wouldn't that give the aggressor a distinct advantage?

I can't fight any battles. If I do my game does "funny stuff" (making everything chromed, pitchblack and impossible to controll anything)
So if it is in SS fought battles, I am out.

It gives the human player the advantage because the AI will never use your army properly in a battle. And it's worse than when the AI controls an AI faction army.

I'm ok with staying all autoresolve. Also, which CAI are we using? Gracul or Savage? I didn't see that mentioned with our change to SS from KGCM. I played the first turn with Savage.

thanks for bringing that up loosecannon1. Your stainless steel settings should be savage ai, disable real recruitment, and nothing else.

Let's do forced AR. It takes a different kind of skill to estimate what forces to bring to be able to take a settlement without embarrassing losses.
The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

Just to be clear - Lithuania gives points right off the bat, and so do the Moors since they are present on the continent of Europe?

Also, a settlement can only give points once for it's capture per 10 turns (to prevent gifting/abandoning the settlement to the AI to then retake it)

Also, please settle the conflicting rules about how many points capturing the target a crusade gives.

Also, what happens when war is declared on an Catholic, or when Catholic armies are destroyed? Do they affect anything other than one's Papal standing and thus the risk of excommunication?

Also, what happens if an AI faction attacks a human player but is not excommunicated?

Sicilly up by the way. @Darth Feather

Yes, moorish settlements to give points right off the bat (the one's in Iberia that is). It is the reconquista after all.

Yes, one capture per 10 turns is a good idea.

Player declared crusades provide a little less in terms of points than papal one's do.

Declaring war on a catholic and destroying their armies caries no penalty except risk of excommunication by the pope.

If the ai attacks you, you can just fend off their armies with no consequence, but you will still suffer penalties for taking their settlements unless they get excommunicated or the like.

Yes, I think it is fair for the moorish settlements to give points right off the bat (the one's in Iberia that is). It is the reconquista after all.
