I know I have to type something in, but how do I type the codes in? How do I get a console up? Thanks.

you can enable cheat codes by starting and ending them with a period. example ----> .cheatcode.

    easy

the console can be brought up by clicking the big "arrow" parchment next to the little corner map on your campaign screen.

Ok, somehow this isn't obvious to me. If I click on the arrow next to the minimamp on the campaign map, the options parchment pops out. I don't see any place to type. If I open up that menu and try typing, nothing happens. What am I missing? Is there another "arrow" I'm missing? Again, thanks . . .

You don't need to type your cheatcode into any script-box. Just type it "blindly" on your keyboard, and the cheat will take effect.
If you mis-type it, then hit the space bar a few times then start again; it doesn't have to be [ENTER]ed to work, it just reads the series of keystrokes.
