Who else believes it would good to be able to construct a ship and train a unit in the same province at the same time (ships take a long time to build and thus deny you the chance to train units) However, ships are built using different technology to what it would ahve taken to train a unit.

anyway just my 2 cents here

I agree. Historically, of course nations built/trained units and ships in the same region. But for game play i think the current system is the way to go. As it is the AI have difficulties keeping up with you in production of ships most of the time.

We all have those couple of teritories that just chuck out ships the whole time and don't produce any troops anyway so there are ways to counteract this.

Think this one would be difficult to implement too if CA decided too.

Yup, ships take a long time to build, that's why you've got to designate certain provinces for ships (more than one helps) and others for troop training.

I prefer the current system as is for gameplay purposes. It forces you to make some tough decisions, balance between a land or naval emphasis more, and those are good things IMO.

Well, how realistic is it that you can only train one unit a year of 100 or even 60 men... I just like it the way it is now.
