Yes, but he threw plague victims on tops, as well as sending carriers forward to infiltrate enemy lines. First known example of biological warfare I think. Besides that, it must have been quite a sight. The impaling as well of course but they were kinda still alive when they were impaled so it doesn't really count. A bit harsh he certainly was, that has got to hurt somewhat.
