    Default CA and the mystery of the Rider and the Spanner (now solved!)

    So CA posted this to the TW facebook, seemingly as a hint to what is to come:

    Been a little while since we’ve seen this guy, wielding his spanner of Assembly. What could it mean?
    Any ideas? I think its mod tools for Rome 2, which would be absolutely amazing.

    A spanner is the classic symbol for the repair function in PC games... maybe CA are saying they will fix this broken franchise.

    You know the old saying, you can't fix what isn't broken?

    Well, you also can't fix what was never whole. R2TW doesn't need fixing, it needs building and finishing. The game just isn't done.

    I'm hoping for mod tools or a way to make our own campaign map (like a map editor or something) in a straightforward way. It could also mean a major technical update to the game.
    The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
    factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
    when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

    Im hoping its the announcement of a large dev kit allowing modders to pretty much remake the game on the same engine.

    The current mods seem a little lack luster and just as stat changing without too much actually changing

    Maybe it is them reworking the entire total war department and firing anyone who's had anything to do with Rome 2 and finding and torturing whoever was responsible for Jeff van Dyck not making the music.

    My first thought was another patch, but modding tools seems more likely.

    For the sake of the franchise I would hope it was mod tools but a wrench also points to mechanical work. Be it development or what ever.

    They already did a major expansion with Caser in Gaul. That is usually the point when they start moving people over to the next new project.

    Well I really think that it will be the mod tools, they have been quite for a while so they must have been on to something big. But I think we will see a big dlc after this, that's what CA has been doing some free content than dlc.....
