    Default Custom Character Hotseat

One of the greatest Westeros hotseats that happened during our time at TWC was the Blackfyre Rebellion CCH. Since this is a rather tumultuous time, it seemed fitting that we start another custom character hotseat to celebrate our move and give us something to look forward to.

The mod used will be The King of Rivers and Hills (available here, and patch here)

    ---------- Factions/Players ----------

    Lannister: Rownage
    Gardener: Axis Sunsoar
    Stark: Dr Mac
    Arryn: Vozd
    Hoare: Mithridate
    Stormkings: Silenced Ape
    Bolton: turkay98
    Mudd: Riverknight
    Yronwood: irishviking5
    Martell: friendofthepeople

    ---------- Template ------------

    Code:
    Faction:

    Biography:

    Character Name:

    Character Age:

    Character Picture:

    Character Location: (X, Y)

    Character Ancillaries:

    Character Traits:
The biography should just be a short little backstory for your character. It will be added as a trait for your character, so don't make it obscenely long.

For the character picture, find one online or create one yourself. Then just post a link to it or post it here. If you do not, your character will have a default portrait.

For the starting location, just find the place on the map, point your mouse at it, and then open the console and type "show_cursorstat"

Each character is allowed 2 ancillaries. These may either be from the game itself (full list found at KoRaH/data/export_descr_ancillaries.txt), or you may create your own. If you create your own, please include pictures with them or else they will receive a random ancillary picture.

Each character will start with Night Fighter and LoyaltyStarter. Beyond these, each character is allowed to have 10 traits. The full list can be found at KoRaH/data/export_descr_character_traits.txt.
    • Each level within a trait counts as one of your 10 traits.
    • For reference, this is the Good Commander line of traits
      Code:
      Trait GoodCommander
          Characters family
          AntiTraits BadCommander

          Level Promising_Commander
              Description Promising_Commander_desc
              EffectsDescription Promising_Commander_effects_desc
              GainMessage Promising_Commander_gain_desc
              LoseMessage Promising_Commander_lose_desc
              Threshold 1

              Effect Command 1

          Level Aspiring_Commander
              Description Aspiring_Commander_desc
              EffectsDescription Aspiring_Commander_effects_desc
              GainMessage Aspiring_Commander_gain_desc
              LoseMessage Aspiring_Commander_lose_desc
              Threshold 2

              Effect Command 2

          Level Proven_Commander
              Description Proven_Commander_desc
              EffectsDescription Proven_Commander_effects_desc
              GainMessage Proven_Commander_gain_desc
              LoseMessage Proven_Commander_lose_desc
              Threshold 4

              Effect Command 3

          Level Great_Commander
              Description Great_Commander_desc
              EffectsDescription Great_Commander_effects_desc
              GainMessage Great_Commander_gain_desc
              LoseMessage Great_Commander_lose_desc
              Threshold 8

              Effect Command 4

          Level Legendary_Commander
              Description Legendary_Commander_desc
              EffectsDescription Legendary_Commander_effects_desc
              GainMessage Legendary_Commander_gain_desc
              LoseMessage Legendary_Commander_lose_desc
              ;Epithet Legendary_Commander_epithet_desc
              Threshold 16

              Effect Command 5
On this line of traits, Promising Commander (Level 1) counts as 1 trait. Aspiring Commander (Level 2) counts as 2 traits. Proven Commander (Level 3) counts as 3 traits. And so on.

I'm wondering how exactly this is done, by editing the files to add our own characters/house in place of the default i assume?

Would this be difficult to do? Could one with 0 modding experience do it with a little help?

I could add the characters in my sleep, if i had the time to sleep lol. :p
Changing the skin/sigil of the factions to add your own personal banners etc would be a lot more work.

Pretty much. Could do houses and stuff, but that is a tedious amount of work.

The template basically just asks for the name, traits, ancillaries, starting location, and a biography (with limits to ancillaries and traits, of couse) of your character. Then I (or whoever is editing the files) just add the characters into the descr_strat, make sure the names are valid in the export_descr_names (and if they aren't, add them), create the custom biography traits, and create the ancillaries.

Perhaps. We just need to see what the demand is and what submod we use. I have no issues with starting a second for more people if needed (I'd like to get some experience with editing files anyways, so I don't mind).

I would as well be interested. As you see on my low amount of posts, I am a "newblood" as Soul like to call us.

Ideally I'd prefer just one general from a workload perspective, but if you're willing to at least do part of the work, feel free to add an entire house. Although you'll have to replace an existing house so your faction doesn't have an unfairly large number of generals.

Anyways, since KORAH seems to be the choice, Bolton's are still available

How will you balance this, especially when allowing a large number of custom characters.

I am not sure what faction I want... Lannister, Storm, Arryn or Greyjoy anyway.
Dorne and I shall cut my wrists, North or Reach and I shall be one unhappy camper.

    Rule suggestions:
No one turn peace but you cannot attack or fort in lands belonging to another player so we wont have to stand about doing jack the first turn.
    40% chance needed to marry

I agree with those two rules.

As to balancing, just compare the generals being removed to those being added. Any past the first (who will receive the 10 traits), the new generals should have comparable stats. Although if everyone wishes for just one general, no balancing will be necessary

I mean balancing as to additional generals caused by custom houses. Of course the single generals will still need to be balanced.

Still hoping someone will take my route though (I had a super mining expert. Only had 2 stars, but could get an additional 1200 out of Casterly Rock). Super OP generals aren't necessarily required for custom characters. Make them miners or traders or super religious or chivalrous or something.

I think I would wish to have either Hoare or Storm, I am not a flowery man from the Reach, I'm not some fish in a River, I dislike the warmth of Dorne and I am not some guy who likes to live isolated in the mountains.
I enjoy the sea and its one of my work places. My lands are stormy, but also very rich and blonde.

OP has been edited to include the template. Although before anyone can begin working on their custom characters, factions need to be claimed. Three factions have been claimed already (Dr Mac -> Stark; vozd -> Arryn; Riverknight -> Mudd (assuming RL means riverlands?)). That means 7 are still available.

I could go with either the Ironborn or Lannisters. Apart from getting a custom character, will anything else be different? Will this handle like an RPG with personal income needed to raise and maintain troops? Or do we just get a character and have an otherwise regular hotseat with the faction?

House Zenith traces its lineage to the nobility of Old Ghis. Roughly 5000 years ago, Adum al Zenith migrated to Westeros roughlyat the outset of war between the Ghiscari Empire and the Dragonlords of the Valyrian Freehold. Fiercely pious and adherent to a little known faith, House Zenith was unique for its relative pacifism and characteristic self-imposed isolation. Warfare was never a talent that flowed through Zenith blood, but the family has always made up for what it lacked in force, with cunning, ingenuity, and erudition. As such, its liege lords, both in Essos, and here in Dorne, have always valued their service. For its service in Sunspear as highly esteemed teachers and public administrators, House Zenith was given the lands immediately north of Sandstone. Their ancestral castle, the Garnet Tower, is unique in that it keeps no garrison, and is rumored to be the home of the largest library on the continent of Westeros, with the exception of the Citadel. The small castle is peopled by the family itself, a relatively small number of castle retainers, and around 8 other families of non-noble birth with whom House Zenith has enjoyed especially close relationships. Having had its lands carved out of what they had considered their territory, bad blood lingers between House Zenith and House Qorgyle of Sandstone.

    Shuah al Zenith of Dorne

Over the centuries, Westerosi society has chipped away, however minimally, at the rugged individualism of the Zeniths. While Cleon al Zenith, current lord of the Garnet remains at the Towers, all of his sons, have departed for Sunspear in pursuit of their own endeavors. This includes the heir to the Garnet, Shuah, who, in his role as Sunspear's outspoken administrator, has built a reputation of his own. As the continent appears to be speeding towards a large shift in the balance of power in Westeros, Dorne looks to its leaders to guide them to the right side of history.

Just a normal hotseat beyond the character. Only difference is that RP is encouraged more than usual (though not required)

    Faction: Stark

Biography: Stephen Bolton is the bastard brother of the current King of the Dreadfort: Domeric Bolton. However, after being exiled from his brother's court he took refuge with the Starks at Winterfell. There, the King of the North legitimised him and named him lord of the Dreadfort. Although he is loyal to the Starks he still maintains the Bolton tradition of flaying prisoners. After all: a naked man has few secrets, a flayed man has none.

    Character Name: Stephen Bolton

    Character Age: 32

Character Picture: [Use a picture of Roose Bolton with his sigil behind him]

    Character Ancillaries:
Flayed captives [use a picture of a flayed man] - Dread +2 Line of sight +3- The prisoners that Lord Bolton flays reveal information about enemy movements and the surrounding area. Either that or they lose a finger or two...

Lord of the Dreadfort- This man has been granted the lordship of the Dreadfort by the true King in the North. +1 command +2 dread

    Character Traits:
    Night Fighter - 0
    Energetic (Energetic 2)- 2
    Natural Commander (NaturalMilitarySkill 2)- 2
    Harsh Taskmaster (Disciplinarian 3)- 3
    Promising Strategist (StrategicSkill 1) -1
    Loyaltystarter- 0

Adding on the traits is 2 so in total I believe I have kept to the 10 rule.

Well, seeing as this seem a go with little issue finding players I'd like to solidify my claim on Hoare/greyjoy.

Biography: To come, but he is a fanatical psycopath

    Character Name: Forlorn Brimstone
    Character Age: 25
    Character Ancillaries: A skin of holy seawater ( +3 piety - 2 HP and +1 dread ) and an ancient Claymore ( +1 command +2 piety )
Character Traits: Harsh taskmaster 3 points , energetic 2 points, driven by rage 3 points, fine with blood 1 point, Fierce in battle 1 point.

    He would have:
    4 command with the item
    5 dread with item
9 Piety with items if you remember to add the base traits all generals should have giving 4 piety that all generals are supposed to have.

    He'd have - 2 hp.

I went with the old system of ten points.
