Default Rome 1 music in Rome 2 mod

So they finally enabled modders to change the music, and now there is a mod out that gives us the Rome 1 music.

    Enjoy!

Finally I can listen to Divinitus in-game
The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

It's a sad commentary on R2 when you have to have a mod to import music from R1

Don't tell me you actually like the music from Rome 2. They literally could have just taken the audio track from 11 years ago and stuck it into the new game and it would have been perfect but nope...

I love this mod, even if it isn't perfect.

Actually, I meant quite the opposite. R2 music is lifeless and boring. R1 music was beautiful and immersive. VanDycke was the best.

Default Rome 1 music in Rome 2 mod

Well I'll disagree with most of you on this. Having a mod that can change the music is good, maybe adding some famous epic songs or themes would be nice, and yes rome 2's original music is not the best but it's not the worst thing either, but saying that they should've just copy paste rome 1 music into rome 2,no look the original rome was a great game but let's face it ,it was great for its time it's new era now and rome 2 after all the patches has become a very nice game. There are still things that needs to be fixed but have you ever seen something like the perfect game? All I'm trying to say is that we should stop comparing rome 1 to rome 2.We should look for new things in the mods not copy, paste music from 2004 .That is my opinion of course, and it is based on the countless of threats how the original rome was better and things like that, well yes but since patch 9 if we exclude siege battles I think rome 2 is far better than rome 1 and the simple answer for that is that it's 10 years newer than rome 1.

Having a mod that can change the music is good
Was a mod that changed the music content necessary for any of the previous releases? Not hardly. Mostly the music was immersive, and at times, epic. Having to mod the music for R2 points up that many folks were dissatisfied with the in-game music.

All I'm trying to say is that we should stop comparing rome 1 to rome 2
But that's really the point, no? CA had 10 yrs. experience since R1 and failed miserably with R2. Yes, many improvements have been made to R2 via patches and mods, making it nothing more than an average game. Not many had major beefs when comparing STW 2 to STW 1, because CA did a beautiful job on the remake.

    if we exclude siege battles
You cannot exclude siege battles if you are to give a fair appraisal of R2. Siege battles have never been one of CA's strong suits, but at least in previous games the AI had some kind of idea of what to do as the aggressor during a siege battle. And being that sieges are still a huge part of the game, this remains a major flaw that will probably never get fixed. Melee combat is still basically a mosh pit despite the efforts to clean it up, naval battles are still poor (most players just AR them to avoid the BS), agent spam is insidious, horse archers cannot utilize the Parthian Shot, the game still has not been optimized to play on a wider variety of PC rigs, etc, etc, etc.....

I think rome 2 is far better than rome 1 and the simple answer for that is that it's 10 years newer than rome 1.
If you prefer R2, good on you. I will only purchase R2 if it's released on disc, pre-patched, and dirt cheap. IMHO, after all the tinkering to R2 post-release, a modded version of R1 will still be a better game despite being 10 yrs older

. By saying to exclude sieges,I meant that this part of the game is still totally broken, and yes what you said about optimization is also true even that after all the patches the game runs much better now.Like I said all that I wrote was my opinion but I think that we should give CA some credit because at the end of the day they are really trying fix the game,a game that was terrible at release date, but they are slowly gettin' there aren't they?

CA doesn't deserve all of the blame for R2's FUBAR'd condition at release...I'm sure they had an ultimatum from SEGA to get it released when it was, or else

But for me, and plenty of other folks from what I see, they will never "get there" because to fix the major issues would require some hefty re-coding, and in all honesty, a new game engine, neither of which is going to happen.

Like I said, when R2 becomes available on disc in the bargain bin, I will consider purchasing it. Until then, I'm more than happy to continue enjoying R1 with all the fine mods available

I don't actually mind the battles so much anymore. They're not as disorganised as they were in the beginning, although I am playing with a mod that reduces the kill rates so much that you have to do stuff like flanking or risk running out of battle time. Two spear units of equal quality can probably go at each other for an hour or more =x

I think CA still needs to explain why they completely ditched the alpha ui.
