Bilderberger group turns 60

The Bilderberg meeting in progress in Copenhagen today marks the 60th year the meeting has been held, and the 60th year the meeting has attracted countless deranged loonies - and I'm not talking of the speakers....

What is it about this meeting that has short-circuited so many brains? Compared to the traditional nefarious organizations bent on world domination, the Bilderberg lacks a permanent structure, a hierarchy and secrecy of its members. It's just a collection of whoever holds power in the world today, brought together to discuss the issues of the day. The only thing kept secret are the discussion; everything else is out in the open, including the topics being discussed.

Are we, in some peoples minds, better off if the rich and the powerful don't discuss issues between them? Have they learned nothing of the missile crisis...?
