Its fine, because the crusade is called on the Moors. XD

He killed the pope.As far as i know if you kill the pope the crusade ends (i believe that is the purpose of this rule) but i am not sure if it ends too if the pope is killed by the muslim faction.

His assassin is France , by looking at his ss from the last turn.
for your knowledge the pope can be killed with armies too.

Killing is not the same as assassinating. Assassinating is a specific method of killing (and within the game you do that with assassins only).
I forbid in the rules that assassinating the Pope once the Crusade is called, because as you said the crusade is cancelled if the Pope dies.
But that's only true if the crusade is called against a Catholic faction (and as long as the Catholic faction is not at war with the Papal State)

So it won't work if the crusade is called against a muslim faction: the crusade is still on.
There's no way for a muslim faction to cancel a crusade once it's called against it.

But in any case, the rule says assassinate, not killing. Are 2 different things .

So now France, an enemy of the Moors who was suppose to be excommunicated, can join the Crusade. Well done Moors. XD

How was I supposed to know a crusade was upcoming? Anyway I killed the pope twice already, thought it would give my generals some nice free experience. Sometimes you get bad luck in life.

And I don't think France will join the crusade. I would be very disappointed if they did

just to eliminate any suspicion, I checked and it was indeed called by the pope

As to the penalty over the fort rule breaking. I can see why it might look insufficient, but it is based on the fact that a previous breaking of this same rule had resulted in the situation in this first place. Any attempt to estimate what the situation would have been otherwise and to impose a penalty based on the difference between these two possibilities would be pure conjecture.

Most players won't tell you really how much time they spend on their turns. But you can easily spot the hard-core hs'eaters (the ones who spend 8-9 hours on their turn). Those players usually don't leave their settlements at risk of being infiltrated and conquered with spies. So if you have armies nearby, and they don't have spies in it (which you can see by pointing any spy to that settlement and see if the odds are over 30%) it's because they literally scouted the whole map -inch by inch-around them. I saw that happening more than once. Mostly they spend time by scouting every inch of the map , reloading and simulating battle results. One player who was previously playing here, admitted he spent 5 hours simulating a battle to be sure I couldn't beat his armies. Currently we have one hard-core player, plus the one who was previously playing and another one external to this HS.

Personally I spend normally (when free from everything else) less than an hour depending on the size of my faction. Most of the time is spend in replaying, because I try to avoid reloading and intermediate saves (they give malus, or prevent form getting certain bonuses). If I don't make mistakes with the mouse, less than 40 minutes is what it takes me.
besides i don t believe this at all. i ts merely impossible to play a turn in half an hour, only if you want to do a awful job . you have 30 spies ,10 stacks ,economy, and you just figure out with a plan too. there are SS to edit and not to mention about the bonuses are you talking about .you can achieve that with simple save (not quicksave) if all that is true then next time i relay want to see how you play your turn in less than an hour and post the save on the forum .
that s not going to happen

-also you said there was some real hs-ers ?? who they are .maybe we have something to learn by them.

Whoops yes I saw it but nothing seemed strange, I probably just wanted to finish the turn, as the save was uploaded at 1AM when my time should end already, well I really hope this will stop happening by next month...

Crusades are herecy.* The heads of christian faith are in unison on this front. Repent and join the one true god, and recognize his son Jesus Christ as your personal saviour

Unless said crusade is used to reclaim lost settlements in the east, which are then granted the kievan rus for safekeeping.

Can I get a quick comprehensive list of who is playing which faction at this point? The posts at the start of the hotseat are inaccurate now I believe, and HRE is not even listed as being played there. @sonnet

HRE and England are played by the same player ,Emproment. Everybody on turn 5 agreed that letting Emproment inherit HRE was a better solution than having the faction turned AI.

It appears that the Moors and HRE have broken the rule where they are not allowed to move defeated armies. As such, the armies of Tasufin Ibn Wadah and Prince Theodrich can't move for 2 turns.

    Read the rules guys.
The art of war, then, is governed by five constant

    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

Using whatever free time I have, I just want to say something about some rumors that have been going around...

Spain and France will not and did not sign a peace treaty without England. Spain and the Moors joined the war on behalf of England, so any
peace deal will include England in the negotiating table.

Good luck and see you all when I come back :)
