. The Bolognese banner bearers & infantry on plates 4 & 5 are probably Italian but wearing classically influenced costume for ceremonial duties.
. The guards on plates 26 & 27 wear sajones.. These may be the Pope's Swiss guard or Charles V's Hartschiere.
