Intermittent display error with icons/buttons

I had this happen a few times with 2.0, and now it's happened for the first time in 2.01, and I got some screenshots.

When this appears, I save and quit, but it always CTDs on quitting. Not sure what the error is, my log doesn't seem to be working.

personaly i think its some kind of memory leak from the engine or the v ram.

One other data point, I have windowed/borderless window mode switched off, though I never switch out or have other applications running in the background. It also doesn't appear to corrupt saved games.

I usually get this when i use Alt+Tab (without being windowed) but I also get it without reasons... But indeed it's not a serious problem as we can just save and relaunch the game.

So far we have no idea what causes this, as it's seemingly random and impacts different factions at different points in the game (if ever). And it's not repeatable. Fortunately it's easy to spot and save your game.

Indeed, that's why I'm led to suspect it's something going on locally that's causing it.

I would imagine it's any sort of background activity going on with the local machine. Alt-tabbing indeed causes it sometimes, I think battery notifications probably do or any other sort of pop-up.

I don't Alt+Tab and I'm using a desktop with nothing else (but antivirus) running in the background. There aren't any popups beyond Windows Update on a routine basis on my machine, and that's usually just after startup.
