I have the same problem. What do I do with the EBII.cfg file? Do i have to change any thing whitin it? Thanks.

What you need to find in your default M2TW folder is the medieval2.preference.cfg. In there find the [video] section and change the battle_resolution and campaign_resolution lines to match your native resolution. You may need to set it to read only afterwards, if your game overwrites the values in it.
